SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN FOR 2015 COLLEGE SLAM DUNK DARK HORSE DUNKER COMPETITION CHICAGO - For the fifth-consecutive year, the final roster spot in the dunk competition of the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will be reserved for the country’s most electric “Dark Horse Dunker” – an unknown, under-the-radar player with hops and creativity that belongs on the national stage. The event takes place in Indianapolis (home of the 2015 Final Four) on Thursday, April 2, and will air LIVE on ESPN. Through a voting competition on the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships’ official Facebook page, fans will decide who earns the final invite to Indianapolis in 2015. Whether he’s a D-I role player or D-III stud, does your school have a player who deserves a chance to be named college basketball’s best dunker? Here’s the deal: · Nominate a player by emailing a YouTube video of his highlights to Jase Roan (jroan@intersportnet) by January 30, 2015. Send in mixtapes from practice, in-game highlights, or any other video evidence of your player’s aerial prowess. You MUST include a YouTube video to be eligible. · The dunker must be a SENIOR in 2014-15 · The top 16 dunkers will be selected and will square off in a bracket-style voting competition on Facebook starting in February. The winner will be ENTIRELY determined by the fans. · Our winner will compete live on ESPN in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships, held April 2 on Final Four weekend in Indianapolis. In the first four years of the Dark Horse Dunker program, the “Dark Horse Dunker” Facebook winner went on to win the College Slam Dunk Championship three times: · Jacob Tucker (Illinois College, 2011, youtu.be/_6UzKptKPg0) · James Justice (Martin Methodist, 2012, youtu.be/BS737iP9AzY), · Marcus Lewis (Eastern Kentucky, 2014, youtu.be/cG_w_8hL0uM) Please let me know if you have any questions about the Dark Horse Dunker competition or our College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Indianapolis.
