SUDDENLY DAKUKU IS NOT FROM RIVERS STATE. I DON HEAR UNA, ANYTHING ELSE? Caveat: As usual, e long. Dear Rivers Compatriots, I have always known that Socrates was right, and now I know even better. Yes indeed, when the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool for the opposition. At the moment, there is no better thing to think than this. Funny characters, una try. Thing is, the change preached by the deliverer and conquerer of some people in Rivers State, to me is a facsimile of another euphemistic approach of an impending classical entry to modern slavery, thuggery, witch hunting, political brigandage, lawlessness and unquestionable looting. We must say NO to this glorified washy. Anyways, you can say all the Guber Candidates may be bad, but one is better and we will be happier with him irrespective of his own baggage. Why not eschew sentiment rather than being the subtle fencist due to the fear of branding. Supporting Dakuku does not mean youre an APC apologist, it is just an indication that you know what is good for Rivers people. That is an aside. In politics, blackmail, misinformation, misdirection and character assassination etc is not haram. But, it is better when the other party (the accuser) can back up those accusations with palpable facts and agreeable figures. What am I saying? Peradventure, I am seeking for an elective office and my opponent know/or has anything indictable about me and presents it with facts and figures. Well, in my mundane vanity of vanities, i do not think it is not healthy to do so. I believe it is better the people know me better before electing me (if they still want to after knowing my evil deeds). But I find it not only as a display of high level Mumurity and Yeyerity (my coinage of foolish) and craziness, I find it crassly disgusting when my opponent just want to waffle because he or she desires to win me in the election and has no tact. We should always present our arguments, accusations and counter-accusations with facts and figures. After all, after the elections, what becomes of us? Hon.Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside was not a Northerner or Yoruba or Igbo or Kanuri when he led Rivers State Students as the National President of NURSS. He wasnt an Australian or Singaporean or a Lebanese when he was the CTC Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro LGA because he did well, abi? Or, are we now saying the Great Opobians were blind or sedated when he led their LGA and left an indelible mark? Oh i see! Perhaps they also knew that he is an Austrian, abi? I dey laugh una. Okay, thats not even enough. Hon.Dakuku Adol Peterside was not from the moon or planet Neptune when the people of OPOBO/NKORO and ANDONI LGAs nominated him to represent them at the Federal House of Representatives. Shameful enough, he wasnt a Liberian when the Rivers State House of Assembly cleared him as Commissioner, huh? But suddenly his paternity and State of Origin is now being questioned because the handwriting is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that he will be elected by Rivers people as Governor come February 28th, GOD willing. Abeg, na weytin dey worry us sef? Which kain yeye campaign of slander be this sef? This was how they concocted against Sir.Chief. Ebenezer Isokariari in 1999 so as to stymie his Governorship ambition. It was very clear that Chief Ebenezer Isokariari would win the 1999 GUBER election in Rivers State, so they came up with some wonderful headlines against him. They said; he is an olumba olumba obu worshiper. They also said he is a womaniser and that; if he is allowed, all their numerous concubines and wives will port to his bedroom. Hence, he shouldnt be allowed. They sold this sickening appeal to hypocrisy to the teeming electorates and that later generated some sympathy for Odili. This was how the powers that be then made Odili the Governor via blackmail and rigging. To show how desperate and wicked these so-called then powers that be were; They even called Odili all sorts of unprintable names just to scuttle his second tenure ambition when the chips were down. This only happened when Odili displayed his real personality in his first tenure which was unfavourable to them. When the centre cannot hold again between them and Odili, they lied that he is also not a true Rivers man. In fact, they sponsored a lot of media hooplas against Odili that his father was a refugee from IMO State that took refuge in Ndoni (Rivers State). Till date, they have no facts to back up their accusation. I am perturbed that this failed bunch were the same people who insisted in 1999 that Dr.Odili must become the Governor. I was wondering if they were not informed or aware as at 1998/1999 that Dr.Odili wasnt a true Rivers man. Well, this set of moles will not and cannot leave the political scene. This is the way they social-climb and survive by bringing down others with their concocted lies and by preaching the hate message. Today instead of playing the game clean, they have resorted to misinforming the public, especially Young people that: Hon.Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside is not from Rivers State. As much as this may seem politically correct to them (in terms of campaign against ones opponent etc), I find it Childish and only those bereft of campaign stratagem will adopt such nonsense. Again, as much as this is politics, I feel terribly bad that Young People have become so gullible that they believe any rubbish about Dakuku, because DAKUKU is in a different party (the APC). Let me ask, are we dealing with individuals or party? Well, If anyone is doubting Dakukus paternity, then quickly run a DNA test on him. Or, if you were there when his Mom gave birth to him, please tell us who his real father is. Or, if youre his father, then come out and tell us your State of origin. If not, hold your peace and stop the misinformation. Stop spreading unnecessary lies about ones paternity, it is so low a thing to do. The desperation to become the next Governor of Rivers State is so heightened that; anything can now pass for a campaign in Rivers State. Well, in all, I am only crying for the Young people being used or those who (for one reason or the other) have decided to be gullible. Remember tomorrow sha. On a final note, I do not think it is mandamus to vote for Dakuku on that day of the Election. No be by force and no one has forced you too. But for no reason should you spread lies about his paternity or question another mans birth/paternity because you or your Candidate cannot win him. A man who you did not witness his birth and yet youre joining others to spread lies? Are you accusing his Mom of infidelity or, .....? Well, today it is Dakuku, tomorrow it may be you or someone else. Think. My dear Young People, Abeg allow the yeye and contentless politicians play their Jaguda politics, dont join them. Support Dakuku to win. For me, I support Mr.President but I do not support (and will not be party to the bad precedence that is about to happen in Rivers State if we do not unitedly say NO). This is Rivers State, I will support even a cow from from another block than to allow an unsure angel from the same block. For some reason, you may be benefitting from this back-to-back governance that wants to force its way into the system, but remember the bad precedence youre about to set will surely boomerang tomorrow. If this is allowed, tomorrow may be worse than today. Please, have a rethink and say NO. Like Ill always say, it must not be Dakuku, but it shouldnt be another back-to-back. Whether Dakuku fails or not, #IAMFORDAKUKU. Whether Dakuku is from Kafanchan or Abaganaram in Borno State, #IAMFORHIM and will support him.
