SUGAR RUSH A style statement Manish Arora’s collection launched by SAKS was a complete sugar rush. Showcasing Indian Tribal Chic, raised to pop art form, Arora broke into a candy store to create a shade box. Saccharine pink, Popsicle blue, cherry red, gummy yellow and ice frosting ivory swirled into the rustle of silk, meshed with myriad motifs done up in digital printing and foil printing. Circle skirts, Patiala Pants, Anarkali Dresses, Circle Skirts, Baggy Trousers and Snazzy tops and Blouses was richly embellished. Arora knows just how to splash surface ornamentation without restrain, yet none of his pieces can be called kitsch. Meshing colors, digital printing, rare embroidery craftsmanship of his Indian artisans his work is truly impressive.
