SUICIDE IS NOT EVEN AN OPTION Suicide cases in Bhutan are on the rise and most of the cases i believe are for very stupid reasons. Anyhow, i would like to call them a disgrace to themselves and to the society. While they end their lives for whatever reasons, it inflicts great pains to the living ones especially their relatives and friends. Now look at other people who are suffering from illness such as cancer, heart and kidney problems and who are desperately fighting a battle that they know is a losing one, exhausting every available options. In every society, it is important to educate people especially the youths about the consequences of suicide cases. I think that people commit suicide either because of the inability to handle stresses or due to wrong perceptions and judgments. My advice to people would be Suicide is not at all an option to offer any solutions. Always remember that our life is so precious and no reasons shall be good enough to cut short our life. With regard to the recent suicide case at Bumthang, a person is being criminalized for sharing the picture. I know it may be viewed unethical to share such graphic picture , but it raises the question if the person has committed a serious crime. It is in a way a double sad story.
