SUNBURY — A Miller Street man was charged Sunday with breaking into the PA. Dutch Market on Market Street during the middle of the day on Sunday. The suspect, Chad Michael Wolfe, 38, of 1019 Miller St., was arrested several hours later. He was arraigned on burglary and related charges and committed to the Northumberland County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. The break-in brought children’s visits to the nearby Santa Claus house to an abrupt end. Mayor David Persing apologized for the cancellation, saying it was best to err on the side of caution. At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, two passersby spotted an unknown figure in the back of the closed store at 245 Market St. A section of the left front display window had been broken, scattering glass on the inside display area as well as on an adjacent stoop leading up to the apartments above the store. A beer mug, still containing a small amount of liquid, was next to the broken window. According to officer Stephen Bennick, of the Sunbury Police Department, Wolfe allegedly went through the store’s cash register and office, stealing about $310. He was arraigned by District Judge Ben Apfelbaum on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. Wolfe was arrested at the FuBar, 13 N. Third St. Wolfe was wearing the same clothes, a green shirt and camouflage-pattern pants that witnesses had spotted him wearing earlier that day, police said. Patrons at the bar told police that Wolfe had commented that they would not be seeing him because he would be leaving soon for Florida. Wolfe had previously lived in Florida. Raymond Kaseman, of Sunbury, was walking with his girlfriend, Jennifer Bennett, also of Sunbury, when they noticed the broken store window. Kaseman said he knew store owner Aaron Burkholder and the person inside did not look like anyone he recognized from the store. Kaseman said he only saw the figure’s back and that he was leaned over and might have been talking on a phone. He said the figure disappeared somewhere in the back of the store by the time police arrived. Assisting at the scene were state police at Stonington, the state police forensic services unit from Montoursville and officers from Northumberland, Point Township and Selinsgrove. lenape solar installer!!!!!!
