SUNDAY, 14TH DECEMBER RISE UP OH WATCHMAN! “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me”. Ezekiel 3:17 As believers, it is important for us to know our value with God so that we can be all that He wants us to be. Sometimes because of the limited understanding of many and their lack of revelation of their purpose, much is not done for the kingdom. Such was the case of Gideon who was considered a mighty man of valour in the sight of God and yet saw himself as the least in Israel. So clearly when one has a limited understanding of himself, he cannot accomplish much for God. When Jesus came to the earth, He had to discover much of Himself from the word. In the book of Luke 4, we are told that he made a discovery of Himself from the book of Isaiah and from there was ushered into His assignment. It is for these reasons why the text above is so important as it shows one of the pivotal roles of a believer. The one being referred to as the son of man is the child of God or a believer. The revelation is that the believer is set as a watchman over men. God’s desire is that they who have come into maturity to know His voice would hear His instructions and warn others for Him. The Bible makes us know that it is not the will of God that any should perish but that all would come to the acknowledgement of the truth. But the principle of God has always been that He works through men; that makes you very important to Him. Please understand, child of God, that God expects you to share what you know with others. He considers you a watchman who should be watchful so that others do not fall into perdition. The neglect of this all important assignment could lead to the destruction of many people. Please do not hold back anymore that which you know; share with someone. And in so doing, you will be fulfilling one of your foremost duties as a watchman, Shalom! Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your word to me. I know of my calling as a watchman by means of this word and I step out from today to fulfill my ministry, I therefore receive grace to be faithful in Jesus name. Ps. David
