SUNDAY 22nd JUNE 2014 - NEWSLETTER Sunday collections From now on, may we please have SIX collectors at each Sunday Mass, two for the side aisles, two for the back of church and two for the front so that they can keep an eye on the basket at all times? If asked to help - please say yes! Father Paul away last Monday-Wednesday Many thanks to our great team who swing into action when Im away - very much appreciated, team, and thanks for your customary efficiency and diligence! (They say they enjoy it and wish I went away a bit more often, but then Im not supposed to have any feelings, am I?) Especial thanks to my old mate Canon John Marmion for saying the Sunday Evening Mass. University Masses Last two Masses of the academic year on June 23rd and June 30th, starting up again on Monday September 8th. Talk about wishing the year away! Car Pool: Anyone willing to run it? Car Pool of folk willing to give lifts to Mass on a Sunday on either an occasional or a regular basis? It just needs a notice at the back of church where willing volunteers could sign up. Wed very much like to find a place in a monastery (paying the appropriate rent, of course), or in a Christian related community. Were very keen to experience monastic life in a real community of monks for one year, even though monastic life isnt our final life-time goal. As this is the final meeting before we set off, absolutely essential that everyone attends! And it looks as if there were just as many of them! Diocesan audit on Thursday Straight back from Cambridge Wednesday night into the rigours of our four-yearly Diocesan Audit on Thursday. We were at it most of the day, as every aspect of our finances and book-keeping was trawled over. But the good news is that we received a very clean bill of health. Many thanks to Denise and Syd, our excellent book-keepers and Gift Aid organisers, and to Paula and Marian, the other members of the Finance Committee, who keep an eye on the money, month in and month out. Next Audit will be 2018. Next Tattenhall house Mass Thursday July 24th, 7.00 pm, at Ann Rutters, Beachin Cottage in Coddington. Fr Gerard Condon Delighted that our good friend Fr Gerard, from Cork is able to be with us for the end of July and first half of August, to look after us during our Rome and Assisi Pilgrimage. (You all loved him because he could do Sunday Mass in half an hour!!)
