SUNDAY CORNER: A man wedded in the church and were both members of the church choir. Suddenly, the choir leader developed an illicit relationship with the members wife. They became so intimate that they decided to marry each other. However, there was a problem because of the issue of the covenant of until death do you part, which they entered in their both marriages meaning there is no sepetation until one of the partners dies. Therefore, the choir leader and the woman conspired to eliminate the husband to pave way for them to marry themselves. As a result, the choir leader acquired poison to be administered on the husband of the woman. On the appointment day he brought the poison to her home. Coincidentally, something happened, a thief had sneaked into the house through the kitchen to steal, but suddenly he had to take cover under the bed for a conducive opportunity to strike. While waiting under the bed, the choir leader came to deliver the poison. Meanwhile the husband of the woman was on afternoon shift duty in a textile company. The thief on realizing that it was not the real husband and being privy to the plot to eliminate him abandoned his plan to steal. He therefore decided to wait under the bed to save the husbands life. The man returned from work late in the night and his wife presented a well prepared but poisoned meal to him. As he washed his hand to eat the food, he heard a man screaming and struggling out under the steel iron vono bed shouting do not eat the food its poisoned. Do not fear, Iam a thief who was on a mission to steal your television set but discovered a plant to kill you but decided to remain so as to save life. He stated further that if he allowed him to be killed who will buy another television set for him to steal? The man and his wife were amazed at the turn of events but the thief narrated why he had to stay back. He insisted that the food was poisoned but the woman denied. The thief demanded that since she was denying she should test the food which the woman also refused. At this point, the man called his dog and gave some part of the food to it, the dog died after five minutes. At this juncture, the thief requested the man to hand him over to the police because he came to steal and was not in the house for any humanitarian mission. However, the man refused but decided that the thief should accompany them to their pastor. On arriving the pastorioum, the woman admitted the plot but confessed that it was the work of the devil. She asked for forgiveness from the husband. The man accepted to forgive her but the question was should he also continue to live with her as his wife? Or what should he do? Should the thief be handed over to the police or allow to go free? In your candid opinion how can this delima be resolved taking into consideration what transpired.
