SUNDAY FENG SUI TIP: Feng shui practitioners see the kitchen as a metaphor for a person’s well-being. The more warm, welcoming, clean and efficient your kitchen, the healthier you’ll be. Here is a brief list of do’s and don’ts to help you give your kitchen the best feng shui possible. Kitchen Feng Shui Do’s The following tips with help you bring out the best in your kitchen: •The kitchen should be spacious, airy and full of lights. This makes it look lively and welcomes chi energy. •Any pastel is a good color for your kitchen, but the best color of all is white (because white represents the metal element). •The sink should always be in the east, and the refrigerator/freezer shouldn’t face the kitchen door. •Directions like north, east or southeast are best suited for the kitchen, as these represent the fire element. •Make sure that you have a clear view of the entrance while you cook. If your stove faces the wall, position a mirror so that it reflects the entrance. Even a shiny kettle on the stove can do the job, since its reflective surface will alert you to any movement behind you. •The stove should be kept clean and in fully working condition.
