SUNDAY, MARCH 16, 2014 DEVOTION THEME: THE BEST PLACE TO BE KEY TEXT: Psalm 122:1 (I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord) - KJV. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ David made this statement to express his profound bliss for being in the house of God. The question is, Are you also filled with joy when you are to go into the house of the Lord? Today is Sunday; which is the accepted day of worship and fellowship for Christians and so make frantic efforts to enter any such place of worship today and your life will never be the same. Some are of the view that church attendance is a mere socialization process. Others also say Christianity is serving the Lord from within your heart and so church fellowship is just and optional routine. Others also are just reluctant and unwilling to go to church for various reasons. This morning, the Lord is reminding you that it is not only beneficial for you to be in the house of God, but a basic responsibility for you as a Christian. Hebrews 10:25 says those of us who know the end-time is due should not cease to fellowship. Being in the house of God makes you poised for salvation. Also, Matthew 18:20 says where two or three are gathered in the name of the Lord, there the Lord is. Christian fellowship invokes the mighty presence of the Lord. Proverbs 27:17 says iron sharpens iron just as a mans countenance sharpens anothers. In the midst of believers, there is spontaneous and sporadic spiritual impartation to minister unto and uplift; especially the weak, in diverse ways. Jesus at the age of twelve preferred to be in the house of the Lord to enjoying the comfort and company of His parents and family and this made Him an Everlasting Saviour, Star, Celebrity, Champion etc. The ideal place and time to effectively serve the Lord, listen to His word etc is the house of God. There are other useful and peculiar benefits in being in the house of God and so do well to be in Bible-Believing Church and constantly fellowship with them. Do not be glad when they tell you to visit the Omotuo Bar, drinking spot, beach, friends house etc today at the expense of church. There is safety, at least, in the house of God and within the few hours you stay in the church, at least, you are compelled to stay away from the various and predominant sins and transgressions you invariably fall into out there. Be at church today, for the Lord is waiting for you there to minister to you! HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!
