SUNDAY MORNING REFLECTIONS: “Ready or not here I come!” .. Genesis 49:10 / Luke 7:19-20 “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between His feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be.” “And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou He that should come, or look we for another? When the men were come unto Him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou He that should come? Or look we for another? 1-SOMEONE IS COMING .. Micah 5:2 “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose going forth have been from old, from everlasting.” Who is this throughout the Old Testament in all 39 books of our Bibles that is coming? Moses in our text spoke of a lawgiver and said, SOMEONE IS COMING. (Gen. 49:10) The sweet Psalmist David said SOMEONE IS COMING in Psalms 40:7 “Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me.” Micah 5:2 said SOMEONE IS COMING, “out of Judah He shall come forth.” Malachi said SOMEONE IS COMING, “Who shall abide the day of his coming?” (Malachi 3:2) The Old Testament declares SOMEONE IS COMING! All of the scriptures point to the Lord Jesus Christ. They tell us He is coming through prophecy, they tell us He is coming through type, they tell us someone is coming through description, they tell us someone is coming in power and strength., they tell us someone is coming to redeem what Adam lost in the fall, and that He will establish salvation for every lost soul (see Gen. 3:15). Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.” 2-SOMEONE IS HERE .. Luke 2:6-7 “And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Someone once said every baby born in the world makes some difference, but Jesus would make a world of difference to men everywhere. There has never been a greater personality born among women than the Lord Jesus Christ. Bill O’Reilly of Fox News has said Jesus is the greatest person ever born because of the impact he has made on the world. SOMEONE IS HERE! John the Baptist stood on the shores of the Jordan River and said, “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.”(John 1:29) SOMEONE IS HERE! John the beloved Apostle of Jesus Christ further said, “But these things are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His Name.” My soul, SOMEONE IS HERE! He has an interest in you and your eternal destiny. Pilate ask, “What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?” They all say unto him let Him be crucified.” (Matthew 27:22) SOMEONE IS HERE, giving His life for you and that person is Jesus Christ who loves you. Trust the Son of God who is here for you. 3-SOMEONE IS COMING AGAIN .. Jude 14 “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints.” SOMEONE IS COMING AGAIN! The book of first Thessalonians is five chapters long, but the interesting thing about the study of this book is the way each chapter ends. Paul states emphatically that Jesus Christ is COMING AGAIN. We are warned to be ready for His return. Let us look at chapter 3:13, “To the end He may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.” HE IS COMING AGAIN! Prepare to meet thy God. Amen? Amen!
