SUNDAY SERMONETTE: In a room there were four candles burning. The ambiance was so soft you could hear them talking. The first one said, “I am PEACE, however nobody can keep me lit. I believe I will go out.” It’s flame rapidly diminishes and goes out completely. The second one says, “I am FAITH. Most of all I am no longer indispensable, so it does not make any sense that I stay lit any longer.” When it finished talking a breeze softly blew on it putting it out. Sadly, the third candle spoke in its turn. “I am LOVE. I have not gotten the strength to stay lit. People put me aside and don’t understand my importance. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them.” And waiting no longer it goes out. Suddenly a child entered the room and saw three candles not burning. “Why are you not burning you are supposed to stay lit till the end.” There must be something I can do. Then the fourth candle said, “Don’t be afraid, while I am still burning we can re-light the other candles, I am HOPE.” With shining eyes, the child took the candle of Hope and lit the other candles. My family, friends and facebook friends, clients and acquaintances, sometimes as we get older and we see the terrible things that go on in the world, we give up believing in faith, peace, love and hope. It shouldnt take a childs innocence to re-light our belief in these core values. All we have to do is look to Jesus our Lord and Savior and believe in him. No matter what happens in this lifetime, if we put our faith in him, those candles will stay lit. The flame of Hope should never go out from our life and each of us can maintain HOPE, FAITH, PEACE and LOVE if we believe! Its a cold day outside, but if it is warm in your heart, the candles will stay lit!! :) My father used to tell me that if you have faith, hope and love, then peace will be the end result. The older I get, the more I believe in that Corinthians 13:12: But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Stop for just a moment, and think about everyone you love in your life. Now see, the candles are burning brightly!!!! :) Have a great Sunday and as kids head back to school and we face our first full week of 2015, get a positive attitude going for this year and help make it the best year ever!!!!!!
