SUNDAY SERVICE 12TH OCT 2014 TOPIC: GREED PROOF SCRIP: 1Tim 6:7, Prov 20:25, Heb 13:5, Luk 12:15. 1Tim 6:9, 1John2:16, James 4;3, Psalm 10:3, Prov 15:27, Prov 20:21 Definition: Greed is coveting for material wealth or things that are out of the will of God for us and ignoring the Spiritual. 1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Many a times, if one goes to church nowadays, it is not to seek the face of God but we go to or come to churches when we have our own agendas. to seek blessings, healing, deliverance and the lot, but how many go or come to church to really seek the face of God. Amist all your troubles, amist all your poverty, amist all that the devil is doing and has put you through. Do you go to church to seek the Lords face or are you going there simply because you heard that that man of God is moving in the prophetic or healing or he is a prosperity Pastor. Then you are greedy for your own gains.The bible says Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Christians are running after money and now they are going to churches for that not for God, but for a man of God to speak a blessing upon their lives and after, God does not matter. Hear me well. I am not saying that money is not important but it is the root of all evil. Because of the love of money the world is in trouble. people will go to any extent to be able to get money, we lie, we cheat, we rob, we kill, we are even fighting for inheritences, all for the sake of money. People will do rituals to gain fame and to have many. Countries are fighting against each other because of gain, oil, minerals and the likes. We have forsaken God....If we look for God then this world we be an ideal place to live in. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. It is high time that us man of God preach the Gospel of truth to people, we need to concentrate more on saving souls then to concentrate on preaching prosperity, let us make people aware that the most important thing in this world and to God is not riches, money, property and all earthly things but we should let people know that their salvation is most important to God than all. Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. James 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. Greed is all over and the devil has used it so well in the lives of christians that we have forsaken true christianity and we have forgotten why Jesus Christ came to this world. To save souls and to bring people into repentance. Mark 10: 21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!. 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!. 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?. 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
