SUNDAY SERVICE 19TH OCTOBER, 2014. You could guess how the service went. Awesome! And I mean awesome. There was a heavy rainfall yesterday morning. Those who came late in the first service got some deserved beatings from the rain for being late to Church. However after the service they were very happy and still preferred that the rain beat them than that they missed the service. Even in that cold the praise and worship maintained the usual energy. In fact by the second service Praise session, when this reporter took a look, much people had their mind on God and then having sweet sweat (some sweats are sweet like after a delicious dish after a very successful significant project) in such a cold weather. The opening hymn for service led by Pst Chibyke was a deep prayer, good enough to position our hearts for what was to come: ‘O deeper yet I pray, And higher everyday …. in Thy precious Holy word’. Then Pastor added ‘Lord lift me up and let me stand…. A higher plane than I have found Lord plant my feet on higher ground’. From that opening we zoomed off for the encounter. Frank was the Praise leader for the day. Good good time before Sis Chidimma drove us deeper in a worship moment. We interceded for souls with Pastor Sam and read Proverbs 3 for the congregational Bible reading with Mummy Azo. The Choir was extra ordinary and really blessed us with their song led by Pst Ifeanyi- How can I explain God… My heart sings oh oh oh. Pastor came and took the atmosphere higher via worship, and faith charging exhortations before we settled to listen to another dimension of teaching on wisdom, still on wisdom series. We’ve not heard it that way. Topic was The Traits of the Wise. It was so practical as he continued to define and extol wisdom and why we must seek her as we seek gold. Eccl 7:12,Eccl 8:1;. Wisdom is what to do to take charge of a situation. Mostly, the real problem in the midst of problem is the problem of not knowing what to do to solve the problem. There is the proof of wisdom and there are traits of the wise he said. Wisdom is proven by results, by its children. A wise business man has profits to show. A wise husband will be proved by his family. A wise woman builds her house. A wise pastor will have it show in his congregation. On the traits of the wise, he said: First the wise is known by their tongue. The heart of the wise teacheth his tongue. Their words contain value, builds up and bring order. The words of the wise will always make sense. The litmus test for folly and wisdom is from the tongue. Two, wise men love knowledge. They store knowledge. They seek knowledge. They are never tired of learning. Hence they read. They are learners and listeners. You won’t see a wise man that knows so little. They know much and yet are never satisfied. Three, wise men are taught. They have mentors. Solomon said he was taught by his father. Every wise man has enough references from those who are ahead of him. Four, wise men receive instructions and accept valid rebukes and corrections. He said anyone who has himself as his only adviser and who does not ask or take counsel from anyone should be pitied. Pastor preached with a lot of practical and humorous instances. I can’t report everything here but you must listen to the message. Soonest a blog from the media will be up, where you can download all these messages. Enjoy the blessings of wisdom.
