SUNDAY SERVICE MESSAGE DATE: 7/12/2014 THEME FOR THE MONTH: THE GREAT SHEPHERD Topic: He knows his sheep and his sheep knows him Pastor Wole Osinupebi Without God in our lives, we can only try but we cannot succeed. To achieve the great things we want to achieve, we need Gods presence in our lives. John 10:10 & 11 God knows his sheep and his sheep knows him. A sheep is humble and obedient. As christians we must possess the attributes of a sheep. 1 Peter2:9 God has chosen to see us as holy people, as his priests. Our behaviour within and outside the church tells how much of God we have in us. As christians we need to live christ like. If you want him to be your shepherd, you must know how to please him. He is a consuming fire, therefore you must be watchful of the things you do. phillipians 2 Serve God, work with him and and follow. Ourbehaviour should be different from those who not know God. Serve the lord with fear and be afraid of him. Hebrews 12:28 The things that we do not need to fear are the things we fear . Luke 21-26 Keep alert, always be vigilant and ready. Those who refuse to repent will not have the presence of God in their lives. God will definitely punish those who have forfeited him. Zephaniah 1:12 If you are unable to restrain yourself,you do not know God. SELF CONTROL/ IMPULSE CONTROL We must learn to control ourselves from having things in excess. Self control is required , we must be moderate in the things we do. 2 Timothy 1:7 If we cannot control ourselves, we find ourselves in bad situations. We cannot do a lot of things if we cannot discipline ourselves. We must be able to discipline ourselves and teach children how to be disciplined. Those who know God win their battles. If you know God, you will succeed if you know God, you will do exploits If you know God, you will excel 1 John 2:14 PRAYER POINTS * Father, help to have self control and have victory over my enemies. * Father, help me to know you better that i will succeed and overcome my excesses. * Father, teach me to know you, that all will be well with me.
