SUNDAY SERVICE REPORT 5TH OCTOBER Our services have continued to be electrified with God’s awesome presence. And presently it’s easily observable that worshippers now come armed with high expectations. Everyone comes expecting something to happen and God has never disappointed for once. Bless His name. Yesterday’s was awesome in God’s presence. God’s tide keeps rising amongst us. The opening hymn for the service led by Pastor Chibyke was very lifting that we had to repeat the stanzas when Pastor came up to open the service. Taken from SS&S 571 the chorus gives idea of the prayer it was: “More more about Jesus, More, more about Jesus, More of His saving fullness see, More of His love who died for us”. And you know the person of Jesus has become dearer to us in Garden since after Pastor’s message on Theoretical Vs Practical (Experiential) knowledge of Jesus. Praise and worship was done by the duo of Sis Praise and Sis KC respectively. Victor remained on the keyboard while Dan manned the bass guitar with other worship warriors backing up from behind the remaining microphones. There was harmony of music and hearts as the presence of God greeted the service. It was a big festival we had! Following the worship session, Pastor Sam led a standard intercession, thanking God for His goodness and great acts amongst us. We prayed for October and the rest of the year. Scriptural reading led by Mummy Azo was taken from Proverbs chapter 2 (so because October is the month of wisdom). Choir’s ministration actually captured and emphasized what has been going on this season. They sang Something’s moving, Something’s shaking, see His glory. It’s like heaven on earth. You could guess what that song must have stirred in the service atmosphere and more so after Pastor came up and took things ‘out of proportion’. The glory continued to hike till Pastor hit the run with his message on wisdom. He has maintained a habit of teaching on wisdom every month of October emphasizing the necessity of wisdom if we must succeed in life. We read from Prov 2 and 4 and he did a basic introduction that contained definitions of wisdom, ingredients of wisdom and indispensability of wisdom. It’s a message everyone must listen. According to him wisdom is indeed the principal thing. Rarely does any other virtue has as much chapters devoted to it as wisdom. Wisdom is so essential that she was personified in Proverbs. If he (Pastor) were to make just one choice among wisdom, riches and anointing, he said he will choose wisdom. You need wisdom every day to make choices, in business, in relationship, in what you eat, in what you wear and so on. Ingredients of wisdom (from heaven) include: ‘Godlyness’-(purity, honesty, fairness, morality), knowledge, information, understanding, common sense, good thinking, sound mind. I can’t do all the message here. Get the cds. That’s yesterday. You can’t come to Garden Service any day without leaving with something tangible. God be praised. NB: This week is prayer week. We are praying for harvest of souls before the end of this year and also harvest of blessings for all Gardeners in the same period. Ex 1:7, Ps 1:3, Is 61:3.
