SUNDAY SERVICE WITH PASTOR JOSEPH GATERU 9TH JUNE 2013 TITLE: GET RID OF THE STONE THAT PREVENTS YOU FROM SEEING GOD SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: JOHN 11:1-12; 11:38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43. -Lazarus was a dear friend to Jesus together with his sisters, Martha and Mary. -their closeness to Jesus prompted Him to raise Lazarus from the dead. -many times we ask for the stones in our lives to be removed while in the actual sense God has given us the power and strength to do so. -When you are with Jesus, you will not be afraid and you will not be threatened by anything. -Jesus intervened because of the connection He had with Lazarus, Mary and Martha. You need to be connected with Christ for Him to intervene in your situation. -give no recognition to what the naysayers say. They spoke to put down the sisters when Lazarus was dead but Jesus intervened for the glory of God. Focus only on the connection you have with Christ. Jesus is on the way coming to give God praise through your circumstance. -Jesus is angry and has wept enough because of what you are going through and is on the way coming. -when the trials seem like they are heavier than they were, that is when Jesus comes because with great tribulations comes even greater praise. -when people smell the stench of your trials, God is seeing an opportunity to glorify Himself through it. -Jesus’ work is not to remove the stone, His work is to resurrect and revive that which is dead in your life. Your work is to remove the stone for Jesus to work. The stone of unbelief, doubt and mediocrity prevents Jesus from doing His work in our lives. -Jesus lifted up His face to GOD who heard. We need to lift our situation to the LORD because HIS ears are attentive to us.
