SUNDAY SWEET SUNDAY...!!!!! Need to thank Mr. Wanner for suggesting tonights post. As many Fleetwood Mac aficionados would agree, Macs best work by far was produced prior to their commercial success in the mid to late 1970s... In fact, most of us who were avid Mac fans previously, found it hard to even stomach the Fleetwood Mac, Rumors and Tusk albums that led them to their eventual commercial success. thereby leaving one of our favorite rock and blues bands from the 60s and early 70s far back in the dust (so to speak). And then there were those truly hardcore Mac fans, ala Solomon and Wahba, that maintain that Kiln house, circa 1970, was in fact their last descent album... But as a late bloomer, I admittedly did not start my Mac attack until the 1970s Kiln House album, followed by 1971s Future Games and 72s Bare Trees, then followed by Penguin in 1973 and ending with Mystery to Me in that same year. It was only then that I discovered their first 3 albums, Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac (1968), Mr. Wonderful also from 68, and finally Then Play On from 1969... But I must confess, that although Then Play On is perhaps their masterpiece (IMHO), it was Bare Trees that first caught my attention and which as my first love, will always be my absolute favorite... So please sit back and close your eyes and by all means, smoke em if you got em, and enjoy this classic from 1972 and of course from me to you...
