SUNTAI: Thanking The Taraba State House Of Assembly: The events - TopicsExpress

SUNTAI: Thanking The Taraba State House Of Assembly: The events playing out in Taraba state is that of greed, wickedness and selfishness. Or how does one describe the desperation of governor Suntai and his associates to hang on to power at all cost even in the face of death. This is holding a people to ransom. I just finished watching the video on You Tube where an unstable, inaudible barely alive Suntai gave what is a stage managed broadcast after swearing in Mr Timothy Katap as the new SSG of Taraba state. It was an irritating sight. The governor looked terrible and barely alive. Why is Governor Suntai doing this to himself? Why is he and his associates doing this injustice to governance? What in the world will make anybody value a governorship position more than his life? It is almost unbelievable. Do the people of Taraba deserve this nonsense? This, as far as I am concerned is pushing one’s luck so far. This is like daring God- The same God who spared his life from that fatal crash. It is so rare to see people survive air disasters and one man instead of thanking God (for the rest of his life) for sparing his life, is angling to cling on to power in a vegetative state. What else is more important than life itself. What if he had died? I still do not get it. This man and his associate had earlier been told by doctors that his mental state cannot be the same again which translates to him not being able to carry out his duties as governor. He already knows that he cannot carry on again as governor, so what is all this show for? I in fact am still surprised that he has not resigned yet as it has been clear since day one that he will not be able to run his own family not to talk of a whole state. Dude must have amassed enough wealth to cater for him and his generations to come. Is the most sensible thing to do in this case not to go take care of himself and enjoy the loot? What is this desperation to hang on to power by all means? Is it to provide governance to the people of Taraba or to continue robbing the state? It sure is not the former because he is not able to do that again in whatever capacity. If it is the later then it is a pity. It makes one sad that even at this state, his conscience is dead. I think it is time governance strictly become what it is-service. It’s time governance became less attractive and not an avenue for self enrichment. I want to say a big thank you to the Taraba state house of assembly for rejecting this senselessness and being there for the people of Taraba state, the people deserve better. News just filtered in that the Taraba State house of assembly has ordered the governor to return to the USA for rehabilitation and come back only when he is fit to continue as governor. God knows all,but I doubt if he will ever be fit to rule Taraba State ever again. My advice to the Governor Suntai is to resign as a Governor of Taraba state, as a matter of urgency, go take care of himself, ask God for forgiveness and keep thanking God for the rest of his life for saving his life . If not, then the Taraba state House of assembly should complete what it already started, by impeaching him. Period!
