SUNY Upstate Medical University shared this story of being named NYSIDs 2014 Customer of the Year Award co-recipient. Located in Syracuse, SUNY Upstate is a State-owned academic medical center in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Its University Hospital is a major provider of health care in the region, serving 1.5 million residents with a 409-bed, tertiary care teaching hospital, a Level-1 Trauma Center, and the region’s only children’s hospital, among many other vital services. In 2014, this partnership of opportunity resulted in employment for 181 individuals with disabilities through the following NYSID member agencies and corporate partners: The Altamont Program, American Maintenance, Arc of Steuben, Arc of Onondaga/Clarus Linen Systems, Human Technologies, ACHIEVE/Bates Troy, Inc.. and Lifetime Assistance Inc/LAICO.
