SUPAJAMS FRIDAY DISCUSSION: Streaming payouts Thom Yorke, Johnny Marr, Foals, and one billion other people have complained about the money paid out from Spotify to artists whose music is on there. But its easy to throw stones and say its not enough. Someone has to come up with a cold, hard answer on what it should be. Lets see what you think. ***How much should an artist get paid for a single stream?*** We want a number, and preferably some sort of explanation. Assume that the artist is a self-managed solo act who owns 100% of everything to do with their music, so dont worry about where the percentages go. We know thats usually not the case, but lets try keep it reasonably simple.
