SUPER CUTE baby chipmunks! Only my second time ever using my camera for video, and im obviously not that good at it, forgive me. But these little guys were so cute I had to share. There were 4 babies total, wagging their little tails and dive-bombing off the tree into the tall grass. After fishing for a while I came back to camp, when I heard one chipmunk let out a loud squeak. I thought they might be fighting so I went over to see what was going on. When I looked down I was shocked. A 3 foot garter snake had his mouth on the littlest ones neck and was applying a rear naked choke and beginning a death squeeze. I grabbed the snake by the tail and gave it a couple shakes. It released the chipmunk, who then ran and stopped in between my feet and turned around to look at the snake. The snake barely had time to re-attach its jaws before I chased it off. I originally went to this place in search of hummingbirds, but these little cuties stole the show. Ill post some photos soon.
