SUPER-NERDY GROUP ABOUT TEACHING DANCE? I LOVE this group. It gives me new knowledge more or less every day and in my opinion it makes a huge contribution to the international MENA dance community. So this question is NOT in any way a criticism of this group. Its about what I would see as a complimentary forum. I am looking for a place to specifically dig into teaching dance, since I want to develop my teaching further. It should not be a place where people advertise their workshops/events, or discuss business aspects of teaching. I want to discuss how to teach different movements, get/give tips on academic writings about dance pedagogy, talk about how to deal with individual physical conditions of pupils, appropriate bpm of music for different parts of a lesson, etc etc. As I said, very nerdy. It does not have to be only MENA-based dance forms, but it evidently has to be open to these forms, ie not focused specifically on say ballet. (this is why I feel it wouldnt be appropriate to use this group, I would like to pose questions relevant to all/many types of dance). Do any of you know of such a group/forum? Or should I create one? Or should I fire away the topics here?
