So emaciated that every rib shows, his hip bones jut out, and his spine has calloused skin along his back. And yet, hes friendly, wags his tail, loves to be pet, and is gentle and sweet. We took a short walk outside and hes clearly a bit weak. I stood and talked to a staff person for a while, and Rubbin stayed quietly by my side as I stroked his head. In the back yard he takes treats gently as hungry as he is, and even knows how to sit when asked. Putting his head in my lap for some petting, his eyes closed in bliss and I felt his head get heavy as he relaxed into the love. He seems to like other dogs, his little stub of a tail wagging when others came by our pen. Rubbin needs a person who will make the commitment to fatten him up and love him. I can only imagine how gorgeous he will be at full weight as hes a handsome fellow now. I fell in love with this gentle giant and promised him that life would get better moving forward. Please help me make my promise to him come true.
