*** SUPER URGENT!!! CASEY, A PUREBRED BOXER NEED A SPECIAL FOREVER HOME!: GONZALES, TX*** Everyone!!! PLEASE help Casey, a beautiful young purebred Boxer gal that need a VERY SPECIAL FOREVER HOME!!! Casey was just surrendered to GDA the other day. Casey is around 1.5-2 years old, and weighs around 50-55lbs. As you can see, she is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The family who surrendered Casey to GDA is NOT her very original owner. This family found Casey about 6 month ago. She was EXTREMELY EMACIATED. Poor Casey was skins and bones! It was obvious that whoever owned her did NOT deserve Casey!! The family took Casey to their home. This family is nice gentleman AND his mother who is over 80 years old. He and his mother tried their hardest and nursed her back. Casey found a GREAT forever home at that point....or at least thats what Casey thought. Sadly, when the gentleman had to move to other state, he couldnt take her with him. Casey is young and still has a lot of energy--- Actually, shes pretty strong, too! There is no way for a 80-years-old, tiny lady to handle this big & strong girl. Casey didnt have anywhere but our little pound... :( Well, usually a purebred is really NOT a hard adoption at all for us or any other shelter/rescues, since a LOT of people do attract towards purebred. And come on! Who dont like a beautiful Boxer? HOWEVER, here is the catch .... Casey needs a very special home with very special owner. CASEY SHOULD BE AS ONLY DOG( ANIMAL) IN A HOUSEHOLD! She is pretty dominant towards pretty much any other dogs....which we already tried out at our shelter( and unfortunately, she prove that good). PLUS... CASEY DOES NOT LIKE CATS! Casey IS pretty strong for her age/size, including pulling leash( dragging you) .....She is kind of gal who shows you that Her way is ( kinda) highway... NOW, as yall know, GDA has been running our little city pound as LESS kill as possible, and has been trying our MORE THAN hardest to save hundreds of dogs for years. We dont care about size, color or breed. However, we DO care about each dogs temperament. The temperament DOES matter and we do set our standard. We CANNOT save the dog that has ( severe) dominant issue towards other dogs. Basically because its just not fair for other dogs, AND we have very limited kennel space WITH daily intake. ANY of GDA dogs are required to share with the kennel, food, toys and blanket with at least 1 other dogs without any trouble.IF the dog cant do this, OR do harm on the other dog, thats just it, We just cannot saveem. WE CANNOT KEEP CASEY UNDER OUR CARE :( Currently were using our temporary/ emergency kennel for Casey, but we cannot keep her there much longer. Her clock is really ticking and her time will be up NOT so far future. We asked Austin Boxer Rescue already, but unfortunately they couldnt take her :( *** FYI: GDA and ABR have a GREAT relationship for YEARS and please keep in mind that THIS IS THE VERY FIRST BOXER in near 10 YEARS relationship that they couldnt take over from us. They ALWAYS took over ANY GDA Boxers in past in any shape. Just even for the rescue groups, its just very hard to take over/replace the dogs that has issues with other dogs :( Casey needs a forever home where she can live as ONLY DOG with the an EXPERIENCED handler that is willingly to work with Caseys issue! Since her issue is a bit severe, we do ask any potential adopter for THEIR VET REFERENCE to make sure that Casey WILL go to the appropriate forever home. Casey is EXCELLENT with people, just NOT with other animals :( For more information about Caseys adoption, please contact Tracy ( 830)560-0920 ASAP! Please share and get the word out for Casey! This is her LAST shot!!! Thank you very much!!!
