SUPPORTING OUR VULNERABLE YOUTH More needs to be done to support our vulnerable youth. Between 2007-08 and 2012-13, there were 18,277 hospitalisations for intentional self-harm involving children and young people in the 3-17 year age range, with 82% of these hospitalisations being for intentional self-poisoning. This troubling data has emerged from the National Children’s Commissioner report on child self-harm and suicide.
