SUPR Heat 1 at TMS: Jon Mitchell of Texarkana, Tex., jumps out to lead with Robert Baker of Bryant, Ark., trailing, followed by former modified hotshoe, Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, IA., on lap 1. Mitchell held a five-length lead on Baker with three laps down, before a charging Ryan Gustin closed the gap. Gustin passes Baker for second, halfway through the heat, then one lap later, goes on the outside of Mitchell to challenge for the lead. Mitchell blocks the Gustin on lap 7, as the pair breaks away from the field. Mitchell will have to earn it though, as lap car, Marcus Baxter of Sachse, Tex., would hold the same lane as Mitchell, coming to the line for the white flag. Less than a car length separated them, going into turn one of the last lap, but Mitchell would slip away and claim the heat #1 victory.
