He told me one word....surrender. Now this is very scary because I knew He was talking about surrendering my whole self, not only my possessions, my family but my will, my body...my whole BEING and life! This is something you dont take lightly and it may take a long time to actually DO. If we do this, we are saying to God, Lord, I relinquish my right to be what I think I ought to be, and I fall into Your hands so that You can make me be what You want me to be. This will result in God’s glory, and of course, in my freedom. God will never force me to do this - it is totally voluntary and done through love and obedience to Him. “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself . . . ” (Matthew 16:24). The surrender here is of my self to Jesus, with His rest at the heart of my being. He says, “If you want to be My disciple, you must give up your right to yourself to Me.” And once this is done, the remainder of your life will exhibit nothing but the evidence of this surrender, and you never need to be concerned again with what the future may hold for you. Whatever your circumstances may be, Jesus is totally sufficient (see 2 Corinthians 12:9 and (Philippians 4:19). I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Rom. 12:1-2)
