SV ACADEMIC GAMES MOVES ONWARD IN ON-SETS TOURNAMENT The Seneca Valley Academic Games Team had another outstanding performance during the Onsets Tournament on Nov. 20 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum in Oakland. The next Academic Games tournament will be held on Jan. 8 at SVMS. Haine Middle School teams placed first, second, third, and fifth. They also had 17 national qualifiers, four of whom had perfect scores. The first place team included Renhan Xu, Parker Logue, Zach Garcia, Anoop Savio, and Dora White. A tied second place team included Sebastian Wary, Jack Veverka, Matt Murphy, Nick Folino, and Nate Trost.The other tied second place team included Arya Nayak, Alex Kramer, Benaifer Sepia, Simren Jayaraman, and Evan Howley. The third place team included Jason Hartenstein, Ty Brinkley, Cameron Ailes, Olivia Demetter, and Vibha Hodachalli. The fifth place team included Sarah McKinley, Brenna Wrubel, Megan Bablak, Evan Prazenica, and Ananya Rao. National qualifiers were Zach Garcia, Matt Murphy, Anoop Savio, Dora White, Adam Raible, Connor Anderson, Renhan Xu, Ty Brinkley, Vibha Hodachalli, Arya Nayak, Simren Jayaraman, Ananya Roa, Megan Bablak, Jack Veverka, Sebastian Wary, Dilini Ranaweera, and Claire Reynolds. Perfect scores were earned by Zach Garcia, Matt Murphy, Anoop Savio, and Dora White. The Middle Division team national qualifiers included Francesca Citrone, Adam Corrigan, Angelo Gionnotta, Jose Ordonez, Vinya Ponugoti, Rishin Sharma, Dean Smith and Ryan Vogel. In the Junior Division, two students, Kyle Cinderich and Urvi Gupta, qualified for nationals. Shane Ruiz in the Senior Division also qualified for nationals. On-Sets is a math game that consists of a set of cards and cubes with various combinations of colors.
