SWANVILLE TOW TRUCK DRIVER HELPS SAVE MANS LIFE A Swanville tow truck driver has been honored for his quick thinking after he freed a man who was caught under a trailer. The Waldo County Sheriffs Office reports to Star 97.7, on Saturday afternoon 48 year old Thomas Benner was working on a loaded tractor trailer when the jack he was using malfunctioned and the trailer collapsed on his chest. Police say attempts to free Benner were unsuccessful. 46 year old Daniel Littlefield was working at a nearby residence and brought his wrecker over to lift the rear axle of the trailer so that Benner could get free. He was taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center. Today Daniel Littlefield was honored with a letter of thanks, Certificate of Recognition, and a challenge coin from the Sheriffs Office for helping to save Benners life.
