SWEET, SWEET SPIRIT Have you had the goose-bump experience - TopicsExpress

SWEET, SWEET SPIRIT Have you had the goose-bump experience during a worship service, Christian concert or other gathering of believers? The goose-bump experience is what I call it when I get that overwhelming sense of something special happening and the hair on my arms stands up and a strange chill comes over me. Now I NEVER get cold, so to feel a chill is quite unusual; when I experience that sensation while worshipping the Lord, I also feel moisture in my eyes...I know that the Spirit of the Almighty is there with me! Jesus promised His disciples that He would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to guide them after He was gone back to the Father in heaven. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:13 KJV). The disciples may not have fully understood what He meant until they had their own goose-bump experience on the day of Pentecost. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4 KJV). Imagine their surprise, just like the astonishment of the multitude listening to them, when they realized that everyone there was able to understand what they were preaching. But part of the reason that the Holy Spirit came to them was because they were all together for a singular purpose. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (Acts 2:1 KJV). They were in one accord, in total agreement, something we rarely see among Christians today. Look at all the denominational differences; consider how many wars have been fought in the name of religion. When we totally give our hearts over to Jesus, small theological differences wont matter. We wont argue our point with other believers; instead, we will come together in full fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:... (Ezekiel 36:26a KJV). When we can reach that point of unity, others will know we are Christians by our love! Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1 KJV). My Jeanne
