SWOT Analysis of GEO Strengths: • It is the most popular Channel • It has sound financial backing from Foreign & Local Revenue Generators. • It has entertainment, Sports and other channels also. • It has the Experienced & WELL CONNECTED Journalists. • Jang Group is very Old • It has the biggest Infra Structure of Technical & Human Resources. • It has some POWERFUL Local & Foreign supporters. • It has Pioneered the Anti Army and PRO India agenda and thus have following in some circles of The society and Industry. • It has well connected with International Journalists Bodies and Organizations. • It has silent support from Judiciary. Weaknesses: • It has infuriated the majority in Pakistan & they strongly believe that it is working against the Interests of Pakistan. • Journalists working with GEO have become the disputed figures in Public eyes. • It has alienated the Armed Forces of Pakistan. • Intellectual Civil Society feels that it crosses the Journalistic standards. • It has Big staff & they look for Promotions and financial Benefits. • It has lost grounds to Channels like DUNYA, & Express & lately ARY. OPPORTUNITIES: • As the society becomes more open which can help in further Increase of Revenues. • If the Political backers Win GEO can benefit in the form of Government Funds. • International Governments can further support in case GEO falls in to a Financial Crisis. • AS the national attitude is to follow the winner so in case it Defeats the powerful forces Nation will follow and accept the supremacy of GEO. • It can take a U Turn By firing some Journalists and change the policy. THREATS: • Legal cases. • Cancellation of License. • Boycott by Masses & decline in Revenues. • Internal Revolt. • New Channels coming with Better technologies & Support of the Powerful. Objective: To weaken GEO + JANG GROUP so that it may not be able to play with the mood of the masses and instrumental in Changing the governments. Strategy: • We will discredit GEO in the Public Eyes. • We will strive to reduce its Revenues. • We will encourage Internal Revolt. • We will BRAND GEO as JEW TV, an enemy Agent. • We will support other Channels. If we succeed in some of our Objectives our group will develop in to a MEDIA Watch Think tank because No where we will Target free Speech, Right of Information, and Right of Truth. This is the basic and I will Request all to add, or delete so that we may work together to achieve our Objective of #BANGEO We will all work like a team & daily concentrate Primarily on our Target through Social Media. We will keep the Public Interest alive by adding posts of Public Interest Directed negatively towards GEO. ON FACE BOOK & other social Medias we will develop BANGEO Group.
