SYLVANIA WATERS - Teenager arrested after assault and brandishing replica firearm at party. A teenager has been charged after allegedly assaulting a number of people and brandishing a replica firearm at a party in Sydney’s south. About 2.15am on Saturday (21 September 2013), an 18-year-old man was at a party at a home on Belgrave Esplanade, Sylvania Waters with a number of other people. It’s alleged he threw a glass bottle at two 16-year-old boys before approaching them and threatening them with a replica pistol. The two boys made their way to the front yard of the premises in order to leave, and while they were waiting for a taxi, police have been told the 18-year-old assaulted another male who ran inside. It’s further alleged the 18-year-old damaged the front door of the home, as well as the side mirror of a nearby car, before assaulting the two 16-year-olds. They returned home and did not seek medical treatment for their injuries. The matter was reported to police from Miranda Local Area Command yesterday (Sunday 22 September 2013). Officers arrested an 18-year-old man at his Miranda home, where it’s alleged they located a replica firearm and an amount of cannabis. The man was taken to Miranda Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, intimidation, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and possess prohibited drug. He was refused bail and will appear before Sutherland Local Court today (Monday 23 September 2013).
