SYNOPSIS: Happy Friday! Heres a look at the weekend weather synopsis... ASIA: Tropical Storm #Kammuri continues to slowly move north and west toward Japan, but it is not expected to arrive in the country. During the beginning of next week, a front along with the development of high pressure will push the storm toward the east, allowing pleasant weather conditions to persist during the next few days. Meanwhile, a developing low over northeastern China will move east and bring rain for portions of the Korean Peninsula during the weekend, and another low in central China will bring rain to Shanghai by the weekend. Southern China, the Indochina Peninsula, and the Philippines will continue to see rain through the weekend with the rainy setup. OCEANIA: New Zealand will see a cloudy and wet weekend as a disturbance passes through. North Island will see a more persistent rain setup while South Island precipitation will be more scattered in nature. Some of the precipitation in the mountains will fall as flurries and snow. In Australia, most of the country will be rain-free for the weekend. There might be a front coming onshore from the southwest for Saturday, bringing a chance of some showers, and by Monday, the same front will clip the southeastern corner of Australia. Generally speaking, most of the country will stay dry with plenty of sunshine. EUROPE: A low pressure system is moving through the Balkan Peninsula, and it should arrive and move through Turkey during the weekend (a contrast to previous lows that were cut-off from the standard flow, creating a bit of a problem for the Balkans with heavy downpours and persistent rainfall). Another low moving through the Scandinavian Peninsula will keep those countries along with the northern portions of Europe under cloudy skies and scattered showers, especially for the western coast of Norway. A low will bring some more rain for Western Europe, especially into Spain, and some of those storms may be strong with heavy downpours during the weekend. NORTH AMERICA: High pressure is controlling most of the United States, so Friday will be fairly dry and pleasant for most of the country, but there will be some cloud cover for parts of the Deep South with slow clearing from the north. However, as we progress into the weekend, moisture will be moving into the US Pacific Northwest, and that will trigger some rain in the Rocky Mountains. Expect possible heavy rain and flash flooding at times in the region. Clouds and rain will also develop in the US Deep South and expand eastward through the weekend. Most of Canada is also staying relatively calm and dry with some showers in northern portions of the southern provinces on Saturday and Sunday. Tropical Storm #Rachel remains out at sea and continues to move away from land. It will weaken next week and never make landfall as a tropical system. Hope you have a wonderful weekend wherever you are!
