Sabbath Message for September 20, 2014 from Dr. Hughon W. James, Personal Ministries Leader, Basseterre Seventh-day Adventist Church: Brothers, sisters and friends, we can only marvel at the intrinsic beauty and unparalleled splendour of God’s creation and the way He has fashioned these treasured vessels of humanity. We have been “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps. 139:14) just “a little lower than the angels” (Ps. 8:5) and crowned with glory and honour. Our lives were intended to be ambitious, persistent and prosperous. The touch of divinity has produced beings that are helpful, skilled and valuable. We have been inspired to be creative, rational and reflective. We have a common duty to be respectful, tolerant and truthful. It is within our nature to be curious, observant and perceptive. We pride ourselves on being attractive, energetic and passionate. We have significant potential to be confident, decisive and responsible. We strive progressively to be more exemplary, impressive and optimistic. Considering each characteristic mentioned above and being really honest with ourselves, in what measure can we thus be described and for what good do we live our lives each day? Surely, as clay in the hands of the potter contemplating and reflecting the glory of our Creator, we, through the influence of the Holy Spirit, may be constantly renewed in His likeness, “transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory” (2 Cor. 3:18, NIV). So, “let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me; all His wonderful passion and purity; oh, Thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.”
