Sabya finalised for the LFW finale: He may have received a very mixed response indeed for his styling of Vidya Balan at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival. But Sabyasachi Mukherjee is already onto his next big project — presenting the grand finale at the Winter/Festive season of the Lakme Fashion Week this August. Incidentally, LFW was the platform where Sabya was “discovered”. His stupendous rise is reflected in the fact that his shows are now considered one of the leading draws at the five-day fashion event, and that on the rare occasions that he hasn’t presented his work here, he has been sorely missed. Sabya may be Bollywood’s favourite designer, but there’s bound to be a certain amount of interest in what he’ll choose to dress Kareena Kapoor — the face of the Lakme range, and therefore the grand finale showstopper. “Presenting my collection at LFW is always a special occasion. This is where I made my debut as a designer, which provided me with a platform to be recognised by the world of fashion. The show will be truly grand,” Sabya said. Source: asianage
