Sacred Sites and Ancient Civilizations “Consider that these pyramid sites along the Band of Peace [Egypt] are sophisticated harmonic structures (flute sound). It seems that the chambers in the pyramids were harmonically tuned to different frequencies, or musical tones … creating huge fields of harmonic resonance,” (Boulter, 2009). Hundreds of ancient sacred sites and monuments dot our globe. They are prevalent on land and under the ocean. Based on their depth of submersion, the sites recently discovered under the ocean point to climate changes that occurred thousands of years ago. From the shamanic perspective, ancient sacred sites are viewed as living beings along with trees, animals and all sentient beings. When gifted by the universe to travel to an ancient sacred site, you will feel the energies and have the opportunity to engage in a mutual, or reciprocal, experience with the site. CONSTRUCTION ON LEY LINES “’Snafaru’ means Double Harmony … [It] is not the name of a person, but the energy we get from these constructions,” (Awyan). Many ancient sites were constructed on ley lines where telluric currents and subtle energies pass. In pre-dawn hours there are daily changes in the earths magnetic field where you may feel Chi, or prana (life-force), currents. Ancient peoples surely understood and used these concepts in their engineering and they built to further concentrate those energies. It has also been written that Roman armies hiked across lands by marching on ley lines. This conserved their energies and they were therefore empowered to fight and conquer once they arrived at their foreign destinations. MAGNETIC FIELD WONDERS Electrical magnetism and conductivity are topics to explore at ancient sacred sites. For example, water aquifers underneath the pyramids and Stonehenge contain electrically conductive cores wrapped in an insulator of granite which is slightly radioactive and releases rayon gas. The outer stones were precisely cut. The shafts were sealed with granite. All the charge in the ground concentrated at the base. Limestone aquifers have water movement under the pyramids and a relationship with the Nile River, and this creates a mild electrical charge and a magnetic field (Burke). Why dont they generate energy today? The condition of the Giza pyramids today is that they have been stripped of their smooth outer casings. At Teotihuacan, the ancient sacred site in Mexico, the Pyramid of the Sun was known to have contained coverings of mica. While the Sun Pyramid was first being probed by Batres in 1096, an archeologist working with him reported a thick sheet of mica covering the top of the fifth body. This material was apparently carried away during the course of the restoration. Coincidentally, a Temple of Mica was also found to the south of the Sun Pyramid about 350 meters down the Way of the Dead, where … the floor (was) covered with mica slabs. Mica has two outstanding characteristics: high electrical resistance and opaqueness to fast neutrons. Hence it acts as an insulator or nuclear reaction moderator, which raises the question as to why two separate areas of Teotihuacan were covered with mica (Tompkins, p. 202). In 2013, the Mexican government removed a core gemstone from the top of the Pyramid of the Sun. We believe it was used as a conductor along with the mica. During our Wisdom School Intensive at Teotihuacan in the fall of 2013, we performed a ceremony at the top of the pyramid to energetically replace the gemstone that was removed. It was a powerful experience and we felt great success and love from Teo as we moved through our ceremony. Perhaps in mutuality Teo had asked us to perform this ceremony and when we did, we experienced great love from Teotihuacan as a living being. ALIGNMENTS WITH THE HEAVENS Many ancient sacred sites, such as Chichen Itza in the Yucatan were constructed to be in alignment to the galaxy and were used as astronomical observatories. Also, it has been thought that during those years people had greater abilities with their eyesight than we do today. When settling at Chichen-Itza, the Teotihuacanos (who left central Mexico around 800 AD) brilliantly merged their two cultural myths: Captain Sundisk representing the worship of Pleiades the astronomical sign Taurus, and Plumed Serpent representing the sacred rattlesnake who is decorated with the fundamental geometry of the universe. The Teotihuacanos and Mayans of Chichen-Itza together created a new myth for a new generation. Their imagery can be still seen today embedded as Chichen-Itza architectural embellishments. We’re familiar with the Mayan Calendar, but did you know that there are archeoacoustics built into Chichen-Itza such as “the singing stairs”? (Weiss), an acoustics expert, felt that the ancient Maya knowingly planned [construction] to echo with a quetzal chirp as a way of paying homage to the revered bird. How remarkable! We’re only just beginning and I wish you great joy in your research into sacred sites and ancient civilizations! :) Diane REFERENCES Awyan, A. H. (2009).
