Sacrifices that Please God I am to be a living sacrifice and worship God with my whole life. It may be honorable to worship God in a church setting, but am I willing to proclaim the name of Christ and continue to worship Him at home, at work, or other places? Jesus suffered outside the camp, a place where the Jews considered unholy, and bore the disgrace for our sake in order to make us holy (v. 12, 13). I got to trade my sin and shame with His perfect righteousness because Jesus reached out to me, a gentile outside the camp. As I fix my eyes on Jesus who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, I must continue to offer God the sacrifices that please Him not only on church grounds but wherever I am, even if it may mean suffering...because this earth is not my home (v. 14). God is pleased when I praise and magnify His name in whatever I do (v. 15). God is pleased when I sacrificially give to others in need (v. 16). God is pleased when I obey my spiritual leaders and submit under their authority (v. 17). All these are pleasing to God because they require humility on my part, and dying to myself. And, that is being Christ-like... Lord, please help me to live this day, realizing its not all about me, but its really all about You. Let me be a living sacrifice that pleases You, praising and worshipping You. Help me to not forget that it is really You that I am serving as I work today.
