Sacrificial lambs DID Fiji TV and its board actually - TopicsExpress

Sacrificial lambs DID Fiji TV and its board actually sacrifice two of its senior executives for the primary reason that could be granted an operating licence for more than six months? (FT 17/12.) Was Fiji TV being victimised and only granted a short term licence just because the Government did not like its TV management? The pairs sudden departure does indeed raise a lot of suspicion. NISHANT SINGH Lautoka iTaukei views IT was a surprise to see Tanya Waqanika and Tevita Gonelevu dropped from Fiji TV (FT 17/12). The timing is most unfortunate as Christmas is just around the corner. I pray that they are not scapegoats for the rugby 7s televising saga. What are the iTaukei provinces thoughts on this move? Dont they still have majority shareholding in TV One? I wish Waqanika and Gonelevu the best in their future endeavours. KORINA WAIBUTA Suva Lame excuse THE reason given by Ioane Naiveli for the termination of Fiji One Television CEO Tevita Gonelevu and content manager Tanya Waqanika is incomprehensible. According to him (FT 17/12), the Government will only give a longer term licence with a restructure within Fiji TV. Subsequently, Tevita and Tanya had to go. Does it have to do with the Fiji sevens TV saga? Every time someones head is chopped (terminated) in public companies, I see this sinister apparition looming behind the actual chopping while a lot of people stand around the chopping block with pitiful shrugs of well what can I do, I need to fend for numero uno. May God bless my beloved country. MATAIASI BULIVOU Nausori
