Sacrificing sovereignty in exchange for cooperation shows a lack - TopicsExpress

Sacrificing sovereignty in exchange for cooperation shows a lack of leadership, humanity, and neglect of human virtues and societal development. The issue of marines stationed in our country and the reaffirmation of their permanency is sure to plague our history for years to come. For the past 25 years no other Caribbean island has gone that low to willingly and stupidly accept the dominance by foreign powers and European masters. It is self-imposed slavery for which every Sint Maarteners has to pay the consequences. It is a sign to all nations that Sint Maarteners are not interested in being a good partner and a good brother. That is the case because The Netherlands with its overpowering military Nato Alliances at times has remained political and military dormant, but has voted and participated in every bombing mission in the Middle-east and Syria. The logistic Sint Maarten provides to undemocratic, oppressive and suppressive ventures shows a lack of civility and universality as well. The literary express their sentiments in the media, but the general population have no clue of the difference and distinction of principles and political parties which advocate rights, and those parties which only provide for orders to follow. The placement and appointments of Higher State organs in the government hierarchy which condones and turns a blind eye towards election fraud is in fact engaging in undemocratic actions. The same immunity provided to these Higher State organs (which are elected for periods of 8 years) have been misused and the departments have been mismanaged. The departments have refused to hire and train employees, therefore we question the quality of service the citizens are getting. The ultimate reports paint a rosy picture, but when we analyze the outcome of different cases, we believe that those organs are actually asking the complainant to do the work of the employees of these State Organs. Some complainants lack the necessary legal, societal and communicative skills to actually file a proper complaint or letter. Those services must be provided to the citizens. In cases when citizens are asked to complain themselves to the service provider a couple of time of not being treaty fairly or lack of due process before coming to the Ombudsman, shows that the State organ is more of a show-case enshrouded in cult and secrecy to further agonize, frustrate, undermine and imposse more inferiority on the average citizen. We need someone who can get off the high-horse and humbly serve the people without the different layers of education, stature, and secretaries. My question is: Is Sint Maarten a stable country where we can rest our hope for establishing a home and growing a family? Or is Sint Maarten initiating projects after projects and wasting opportunity and time while the world and competition passes us by? And is the Netherlands willingly going to stand-by, accept and watch? How costly it must be for all citizens of the Kingdom? Sint Maarten has to stop pretending to know and stop deceiving our neighbours and other nations. Sint Maarten has to learn that there is no free ride from anybody.
