Sad... I was getting my first taste of America when this song came out, fresh out of technology school in computers, coming in to my own as a lyricist, knocking on thousand of doors in both areas trying to get something going with my dreams, even putting my self in position in both area volunteering to get my feet in the door, and off of government assistance, but never a bite, anyone who knows me can vouch to that. When I hear this song now, I fully understand what Bruce is saying to America. Guess some things really never change.. So when you tell people get a job, stop relying on the government, etc. first ask yourself, how did they get here, why are they where they are.
