Sad News, My little Buddy Jimmy Dickens Passed away today...Jimmy was always laughing and making us laugh along. Proud to have played music with this man and listened to hundreds of his stories. The Opry is becoming vacant of the old stars who paved the road for all the new. Jimmy was iconic and always will be. He was kind to a fat kid from Iowa...I will never forget him and the fact he played a guitar bigger than he was, he was always decked out in the flashiest duds and was truly a star. The last time I saw Jimmy was at the Ryman, we were on and he was backstage, He saw me and ran right to my beautiful wife and gave her a big hug... he buried his face in her chest then came up for air and said he was just the right height for huggin...LMAO....My wife got motorboated by Jimmy....Sad to see him go, he was a real life larger than life character...Pleasant Journeys Jimmy...The Band in heaven just got a little sweeter....tennessean/story/entertainment/2015/01/02/little-jimmy-dickens-opry-star-dies-obit/21210809/
