Sad News X3 We have been blessed by the many, many people who have touched our lives. We hope we have touched theirs as well. That’s what makes these notices so hard. Three great men have left us for a better place since Friday. Some you many know, others not. Regardless, please take a moment to hold them in your heart and your prayers. Internationally renowned cattleman and Brangus breeder Alex Dees, Yuma, Arizona, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014. He had been ill for some time and as a result dispersed his Brangus herd about a year ago. He was an active members of the International Brangus Breeders Association, the Southwest Brangus Breeders, the Arizona National Livestock Show and the Arizona Cattle Growers’ Association to name a few. He judged Brahman type cattle around the world and you won’t find a stronger supporter of youth programs like 4-H and FFA. He was a friend to anyone and everyone who knew him. Services for Alex will be this Saturday at 11am MST at the 1st Christian Church at 3261 South Avenue 6E, Yuma, AZ 85365. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to go to the Yuma FFA and 4-H. On Sunday Bob Fennimore, Huachuca City, Arizona, passed away after a long battle with cancer. If you were from the area and didn’t fight wild land fires, you might have never heard of Bob. He was a big man with a bigger heart. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many. His work with the Huachuca City Fire Department and fighting wild land fires became a passion. He developed special trucks that could be used for fighting non-urban fires. He worked for both Bobby Cowan and Bill Cowan and was a constant watchdog for their girls. Although he didn’t come from a ranching family, he became a part of our family and a huge supporter of Cowbells, the Shiners and countless other worthy causes. About noon today we learned that longtime Angus breeder and showman, Richard Stott’s, Clarendon, Texas, passed away. He was found this morning near his beloved show barn where he had animals for shows to come. Richard showed at all the major shows across the nation and brought cattle to the New Mexico State Fair for some 60 years. For the last few years he was the reason the Fair even had an Angus show. Richard had suffered health problems the last several years and was no longer able to lead cattle into the ring, but that didn’t stop him from being there. Special thanks to Ty and Niccole Williams and their son Brazos for making it possible for Richard to stay on the road for the past few years. As we learn more information about services and where to send cards, we will share it with you.
