Sad about the passing of Al Stone, father of one of my closest friends, Mark Stone. The first words I ever heard him issue were, Jesus christ, Brian; clean your room, it looks like a god-damned cesspool!! in 1975. He went on to dub me with one of my all time favorite nick-names; Mr. Make-believe. He indeliberately was the source of countless cumulative belly laughs and was a pilot in the air taxi service that delivered aircraft to the European theater during WWII. I know he desperately wanted to be a fighter pilot based on some casual conversations but in a way Im glad he didnt as that might have cost me a friend if he got shot down. He knew my interest in WWII aviation and gifted me a GI B-17 flight manual that I will always cherish. Wherever you are now, Mr. Stone, you are realizing just how many of your beers we snuck back when we were kids. I would apologize if we didnt end up getting into so much mischief. Thanks for the hijinx-juice. 90 years is a good run, sir, you earned your rest!! Sincerely, Mr. Make-believe
