Sad and upsetting news. THERE IS NO FLAG!!! Were spending the week at Ft. Sam Houston for medical appointments. Sadly the flag pole at the military RV campground is without a U. S. Flag. Because of budget cuts, the old tattered flag hasnt been replaced. There is talk that the commissary (grocery) system will be closing. This is a profitable world wide operation, funding MWR (moral welfare and recreation) for U. S. troops, employing thousands, and saving our soldiers - active duty and retired - $. Were spending the week here because I have 3 Dr. appointments for a knee i originally injured my 1st year in the Army and reinjured January 10. It has taken this long to receive treatment. It is a 90 round trip for each appointment, hence the RV vacation. I am no longer allowed to see a civilian doctor on the retired military medical plan (which is not free - the premium went up again this year - and has a copay). We were also promised optical and dental benefits which no longer exists due to budget cuts. It makes me angry, sickens me that we Americans must tighten out belts while our 1st lady spends millions of our tax dollars vacationing. THERES NO FLAG!!!
