Sad but true! I was at Arbys one day buying some of their 5 for $5 sandwiches for a few homeless guys hanging out about 2 miles away and someone asked why I was buyin so many and when I told them it was for the homeless people they sneered and said dont waste your money, they should get a job. It cost me $25 to make these guys day and in speaking to them, I found out two where homeless vets who had PTSD so were unable to hold a job and they had been unable to get the medical help they needed. Two of the other guys had tried to find jobs but did not have an address to use to get paid and no longer had a drivers license or copy of their social security card. These people where not drunks or intentional crooks, they had some bad fortune. No, I will never give cash to a homeless person but care packages (deodorant, toothbrush, washcloths, quips etc) are always met with as much joy as a grown man buyin a new sports car. I hope this message helps some of you to buy a few extras of the essentials for someone in need
