Sad....just unbelievably sad....especially when you consider that it was really not only out of greed for the profits of the hides....the rest including meat was just left to waste.....but the real motivation behind this slaughter was to kill off the Native American as the american buffalo was very important to the life of many tribes for food, shelter, clothing etc... There was no waste when they harvested and they only harvested what they needed and the heards remained healthy.
