Sad news received today fro LEBA member Gerry Coventry. He called to say that his old friend and LEBA member Lennie Wilson had passed away, aged 78 on Sunday 16th March. Len boxed out of Dagenham and was a top amateur in his day, he boxed and defeated Dave Charnley, prior to Charnley turning pro. Len himself turned pro shortly after under the management of Jarvis Astaire. (Len should not be mistaken for our other Len Wilson who still attends our meetings and lives in Southend). Gerry will forward further information as and when he gets it. Gerry also mentioned that our member Billy Graydon, lost his son Chris aged 45, also on Sunday 16th. LEBAs sincere condolences go to both families, for such sad losses. God bless and RIP.
