Sad news that wordsmith Jay Maeder died today. Longtime Miamians remember his sly and witty People column in the Herald. Heres one of our favorite items from 1983: In Johnson City, Tenn., this week, meanwhile, theyre going ahead with plans for The Second Annual International Worm Race despite last years grim tragedy that saw the accidental deaths of most of the contestants.
