Apparently the alleged 500 complaints Target receives each year take precedent over the millions of customers who either bring in their own bags or pay the small surcharge. The negative PR fallout on their FB page suggests that this has backfired as there is a growing public awareness that companies play a huge role in reducing the 4 billion plastic bags wasted each year in Australia.
